One summer, a few thousand years ago…

Once purely nomadic, humans have at last begun to clear the vast forests of the world and dot the landscape with the first cities. Manakor is a servant in one of these new worlds, the city of Miril. She yearns for her master, the cook Kaal, a hot-blooded man who doesn't spare her a single glance. How to seduce him? How to win his heart?

While she concocts strange love potions, ominous black smoke floods the horizon. Is it only fire from the nomadic tribes? Or is it the first sign of a great upheaval to come?
